Privacy Policy Spachtelaarbros B.V. (mentioned below as SB)

​Definition of personal data

​Your personal data are all information that can be traced back to you as an individual. For example, your name, address, phone number, or email address. But also data such as an IP address or your Spachtelaarbros B.V. account number fall under personal data.

​Legal basis for the use of your data 

​Privacy legislation obliges us to indicate the legal grounds we have for using your (personal) data. We need data from you because of the sale of our products to you. This applies to, for example:

• Orders & pre-orders(both by phone, email, through Spachtelaarbros shop, and on location) 
• Delivery Returns & any complaints
• Contact with our customer service or one of our branches 
• Contact with "SB"-related parties such as the Helpdesk on the internet

Additionally, we can use your data based on 'legitimate interest.' For us, this means fulfilling the four SB promises: providing the best advice, delivering quality products, offering logistical solutions, and providing excellent service. We always consider your privacy in this. This applies to:

• Contact with our customer service 
• Contact with the branches 
• Visiting SB websites 
• My SB account Newsletters & emails 
• Personal advice 
• Promotions 
• Social media
  

​There might be instances where we are legally obligated to use your data, for example, when we suspect fraud. Sometimes, you provide consent for the use of your data, for instance, when you sign up for a newsletter or contact us via our website, online shop, or social media.

​Access to your data

  ​We only pass on your data to third parties (other entities) if strictly necessary for our services. This might include, for example, the Helpdesk for My SB or delivery partners. Entities like data management platforms, media and advertising agencies, and research agencies only come into play when we aim to provide you with personal advice or show targeted advertisements. In suspicious situations, we are obliged to share your customer data with government authorities. The parties that have access to your data from us may only use it to provide a service on behalf of SB, unless they are responsible themselves for obtaining and protecting your data.

​Storage of your personal data 

​We store your data in different databases. We apply strict security measures for this. Your data is stored within the European Union (specifically: NL). We do everything to ensure the protection of your privacy.

​Retention period of your data

​Of course, we do not store your data longer than necessary. However, we might still use your data anonymously if we need certain information for internal or external analyses. We follow these retention periods:

• We delete recorded phone conversations as a standard after 30 days, unless we have a legal obligation to keep a conversation longer. 
• Inactive My SB customer accounts are deleted after 2 years. After this period, we only use your data anonymously for internal reports. 
• The Tax Authorities oblige us to retain invoice, payment, and order data for 7 years 
• If you subscribe to a newsletter or give us permission to use your data, we retain your consent for 5 years. This also applies to any request to end this. 
• Data used to prevent fraud is retained for 15 years. '

​Your rights

​Your data is of course yours. You can always request access to the data we have about you. You can always make a request for this by e-mail via info@spachtelaarbros.nl. You can also object to the use of your data for marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe from a newsletter by using the so-called 'opt-out' option via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter.
